Flash Loops and why they are what they are today

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

On pown.it some random guy – with toooo much free time if you ask me – went through the effort to search and list roundabout 4000 Flash Loops.

You don’t even know what a Flash Loop is?

Flash Loops are a famous internet meme with a big “underground” fanbase. “Underground” because there has been no huge commercial portal using this viral kind of flash yet. – like ebaums or newgrounds did with ordinary Flashes –

Flash loops always are short bits of animation created with flash or by importing another video source into the flash video.

The flash loops will not stop repeating. There’s no story to follow in an ordinary flash loop. Flas loops are on repeat.

Most flash loops feature scenes from a movie, tv-show, anime or cartoon set to fast electronical music in fast forward.

Most of these flash loops are created, or become known through the imageboard /f/ on 4chan.org. If you actually dont know 4chan, you should check out wikipedia, as explaining 4chan will take a lot of time.

However, even if there is /f/ to supply us all with daily flash loops, /f/ only has every flash file for a few hours or 1 day…

This is why sites like pown.it come in quite handy in order to enjoy the complete randomness of crazy flash loops

On www.pown.it this random dude – with toooo much freetime if you ask me – made the effort to up and index about 4000 Flash Loops.

Wait a minute; Don’t know what a Flash Loop is?

Flash Loops are a by now quite famous internet phenomenon entertaining a enormous “underground” fanbase. I used the term “Underground” because this extremely viral media hasn’t used in a mainstream kind of way yet.

These flash loops keep on repeating, which is why they are loops – doh -.There will never be a story to understand in a proper flash loop. So there is no obligation to look with great care or catch something .

A majority of all flash loops show scenes from a cult movie, tv-show, anime or cartoon set to fast electronical music and bright colors or memes or both.

Most flash loops originate, or atleased become known by being published on the flash section /f/ of 4chan.org. If you actually dont know 4chan, check out wikipedia, because explaining 4chan.org would take way too much time.

That’s is why flash sites like www.pown.it come in handy if you’d like to enjoy the randomness of lulzy flash loops without running out of loops or time!
